Archangel Simiel – also known as the angel of love. Firstly, his name means “Whom God Makes”. He is one of the 7 archangels as Pope Saint Gregory I lists them. The other six archangels are: Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, Uriel, Simiel, Oriphiel and Raguel. Also, Simiel’s color is red.

Archangel Simiel and Pope Zachary’s decision

In 745 c.e. Church Council in Rome, leaded by Pope Zachary, reprobated Simiel. Pope Zachary declared that Simiel is one of the evil spirits. And he can’t be venerated. But he was not the only one. The council reprobated Uriel, Tubuel, Sabaoc, Inias and Raguel too. He also forbidden the mention of these names in prayers.
